Dwells at the bottom of the ocean, there have been accounts reported of sightings on beaches.  Burrows in sand, uses legs to walk along the ocean floor, hooks at the end of the legs are used to anchor the body to prevent being tossed about by strong rip tides and waves.  Back fins are used to propel forward also duel as breathing apparatuses when below water.

 

Males have been recorded to have large ear-like growths located directly behind the eye.  The significance and function of these growths are unknown Speculations have been made that these might be used as birthing pouches.  The growths expand and seal to protect the offspring from strong water and predators.
